I have finished the poetry challenge and now we will see if it gets published and what it will look like. Here is one of the poems in it.

Lost

Once when days were lighter
I cycled on the beach
As far as I could go
And the spray and breaking of waves
Stirred the wonder of being solo
And I felt mightier like a man might

Until the tide came in
the darkness fell
And I quivered of cold and something else
As I carried my cycle over the dunes
And then pedalled endlessly
On that black lonely road

The police picked me up
That night and dumped me home
Where my mother’s worried anger
For her prodigal boy
And my own relief was a lesson
About trust, love and coming back

Now under the heaviness
I run with GPS, but still the track
Gets lost and the darkness and tide
Sweep in as I try to remember the way
To get back until I dump it all
At the Crossroad and pray.
