I do not have much to say. Let me share a picture I took at the lake yesterday.
Our eldest daughter is leaving to start her studies in South Africa. We were in Chandigarh when she was born. We have countless memories of going to Sukhna Lake. We rowed in one of the paddle boats, we fed the geese (which were there earlier) We had meals on the roof of the cafeteria. We ran on the running track. We explored the forest area behind the lake.
I allow myself to feel sad that those times are ending now. I still remember the quiet baby who was happy to be passed around to anybody. She became the quiet child who would often find a lonely spot to sit in. How my heart ached for her during some of the darker years we shared as a family. She is now a quiet and thoughtful adult and ready for whatever will come.
I believe that her faith in Jesus as her saviour and friend will carry her for the rest of her life. We find happiness only in a loving relationship with our Creator. We find direction and purpose in living His dream for us.
Don’t follow your heart, my daughter. You have to lead your heart. It is “deceitful above all else” (Jeremiah 17:9). “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)
